What is Star Citizen?
A multiplayer space sim where you wake up in a station habitation, board your ship, fly out through the atmosphere and reach the next planet without a single loading screen. It is in alpha: huge, slow, sometimes broken — and without an equivalent.

Stanton from orbit — the same run we make every night
The four things you actually do
- FLY
Flight & navigation
Lifting off a pad, leaving atmosphere, spooling a quantum route, landing by hand. Flying is a skill here, not a travel menu.
Flight training in the org › - TRADE
Trade & hauling
Buy commodities and move them across systems — from a lone ARGO RAFT up to a C2 Hercules hold. The profit is real and so is the risk.
Hauling unions › - INDUSTRY
Mining & salvage
Scan and fracture rocks with a Prospector or MOLE, strip derelict hulls with a Vulture or Reclaimer, sell the material on to a refinery.
Mining & salvage unions › - COMBAT
Combat & security
Bounties from VLRT up to ERT — you start in a Gladius and grow into a Corsair or Paladin — plus convoy escort and bunker clearing.

Why it feels enormous
Bars are proportional to real in-game hull length.
- A person1.8 m
- Cutlass Black29 m
- Caterpillar111 m
- Reclaimer156 m
- Idris-P240 m
- Javelin345 m
- 45 min
of real flight between two Stanton planets — no loading screen
- 100+ hulls
flyable, each with a full walkable interior
- 3 systems
imperial Stanton, lawless Pyro and industrial Nyx
What your first hour looks like
Without a guide the first night is usually confusing. The real path is this:
- screenshot: hab room and mobiGlas00:00
Wake up in a hab
You wake in your room on a station. The mobiGlas on your wrist is the interface for everything: map, contracts, bank, ship retrieval.
- screenshot: landing pad and ship00:10
Claim your ship
At an ASOP terminal you retrieve your ship, get a pad number, take the elevator, and lift off for the first time.
- screenshot: cargo hold and quantum route00:25
Your first contract
A simple delivery: load the cargo, spool a quantum route, fly station to city and drop it off.
- screenshot: crew on the station concourse00:45
Getting paid, picking a path
The money lands and the real decision starts: mining, hauling, salvage, medical or combat. This is where the unions come in.
Honestly: what is great, what will annoy you
What exists nowhere else
- No loading screens. From the hab bed to the surface of the next planet it is one continuous physical move.
- The world persists: cargo you drop and wrecks you leave are still there across sessions.
- Multi-crew ships with real roles: pilot, engineer, medic, gunner.
- Genuinely different careers: mining, salvage, medical, hauling, security.
- Emergent stories no script wrote for you.
- A Persian-speaking community that trains you from zero.
What you should know
- It is an alpha: bugs, desync and server crashes (30k) are part of it.
- Ships sometimes explode for no clear reason, quantum drives fail mid-jump, and cargo occasionally vanishes through no fault of yours.
- The UI is not friendly; a lot of it has to be shown to you.
- Steep learning curve — play the first few nights with a guide.
- Everything takes time; there is no 20-minute session.
- Some updates wipe in-game progress and assets.
- You need mid-to-high hardware and an SSD install.
Where the game starts needing a team
This is the high-risk content; going alone usually means losing your gear.
- BLACK SITES
Underground black sites
100+ abandoned research facilities with modular layouts, defence turrets and environmental hazards. Clearing one is infantry work, not solo work.
- NYX
Vanduul smuggler runs
Infiltration contracts in the Nyx system that pay out in rare components you cannot source anywhere else.
- OPEN PVP
Hathor orbital platform
A ground team lines up sensors so an orbital laser can cut into the cave below. PvP here is unrestricted and nobody is stopping anyone.
- CONTESTED
Contested zones
Raids on lawless stations. Anything you carry in can be lost, but the exclusive vaults hold account-bound rewards.
- RAID
Stormbreaker gauntlet
A multi-planet raid up to the Irradiated Apex Valakar, run in radiation suits with mechs deployed.
The three questions everyone asks first
Is it a scam?
No. A scam takes your money and delivers nothing; Star Citizen delivers a playable game with three full star systems, and what you pay goes straight into building it. The fair criticism is scope creep since the 2012 Kickstarter and mismanaged timelines — that is not the same as fraud.
Is it pay-to-win?
No. Every ship sold for real money can be earned with in-game aUEC, skill and coordination matter more than spending, and capital ships need large crews and carry enormous upkeep. A solo pilot who knows their ship, loadout and the map can destroy or board vessels worth orders of magnitude more.
When should you wait instead?
If you need a polished, finished product, if you have no tolerance for bugs, or if you want a single-player story. For the last one Squadron 42 is coming; for the first two, wait.
Reality check: hardware and Iran
| Item | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Quad-core (i5-4460 / Ryzen 3 1200) | 6-core or better (i5-12400 / Ryzen 5 5600) |
| RAM | 16 GB | 32 GB |
| GPU | GTX 1060 6GB / RX 580 | RTX 3070 / RX 6800 or better |
| Storage | SSD required · 120 GB free | NVMe · 200 GB free |
| OS | Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit | Windows 11, 64-bit |
Playing from Iran
- Ping to EU servers usually sits between 90 and 150 ms, which is playable; the game cares more about a stable connection than raw speed.
- The initial download is around 120 GB; the launcher resumes, so it does not have to be done in one sitting.
- Rial payment goes through the Persian storefront, and creating an RSI account with an ordinary email is fine.
- Starter package
- $40
- Refund window
- 30 days, in full
- Platform
- Windows only — no Steam, no console
Which loop is yours?
Four questions; at the end we suggest a loop, a union and a starter ship.
